This client was fed up of not getting maximum usage of their garden and called us to help them achieve a space which still left plenty of room or the kids to play but gave the adults somewhere to relax. One particular corner of the garden was a real mess with overgrown shrubs and a pile of earth. This area was also a real sun trap and we decided to introduce a new area for seating surrounded by a raised bed.
After reviewing different paving options the client decided to go for natural sandstone, a great choice of good looking stone which is great value for money. We added an edging of sandstone setts for the main patio to really define the new shape and make life easier when mowing the lawn.
The client also briefed us to create a new area for the bins hiding them behind trellis. This is a common problem and fortunately there was an ideal spot to get them out of the way and not spoiling the garden.
The timber bed in the new corner was constructed using new railway sleepers which compliment the sandstone and now provide a new area to add plants that will eventually grow to provide privacy in that corner.
The final result is a simple but effective garden that provides all members of this family the chance to really enjoy the garden.
