At Westacott Gardens we can offer the full range of garden services from design through to installation, planting and after-care. We believe offering this full service provides the client with continuity throughout the whole process.
Whatever the budget or size of project we want to constantly produce top quality, bespoke gardens. Gardens that suit the owner and work on their specific site. For this reason we like to maintain control of the process from start to finish, ensuring our high standards run throughout each project.
However we are also happy to provide you with any single part of the process. Whether that be supplying your contractor with plans, building from existing plans or providing plants and planting.
We also recognise that certain parts of the process require input from individuals with specific skills. For this reason, when needed, we will turn to trusted third parties to bring those skills on board such as irrigation or lighting.
Design
No matter what size project, the design process is vital in order to achieve the right garden for each individual. A good design reflects all the clients desires for their garden, both practical and emotional and makes the best of the available space.
The design process begins with an informal consultation to discuss your wishes for your garden. This either includes or is followed by a site survey which enables scale drawings to be produced. After these have taken place we can then move on to produce:
- Rough designs for discussion, possibly including mood boards
- detailed, scale drawings
- 3D CAD images
Follow up meetings will then refine the chosen design and add details such as materials and planting etc. And of course be used to define the budget.
Building
At the end of the design process, having agreed the design we will then provide a build estimate and outline timing plan. Alternatively we are happy to work with your chosen contractor.
Having agreed this we will then move on to the installation of the garden always ensuring minimum mess and intrusion whilst ensuring the highest construction standards are maintained throughout.
Planting
This is an area in which we take time and great care to achieve high quality planting schemes that work. Working to the tried and tested formula of right plant, right place we start by looking at the soil conditions and general site conditions to ensure any plants chosen have a good chance of survival.
Of course we can improve soil conditions or look at irrigation systems to provide optimum conditions for different plants, but we start by working with what has been provided. We then look work with our clients to find out what they are looking for in this area. In terms of colour, style, maintenance levels and of course what works with the design if applicable.
This information is then mixed with our own expertise and knowledge of the design to create a planting scheme that works in tandem with the garden and the clients desires. And of course we promise to be on hand to provide after-care assistance either hands on or in the form of a written care plan for your new plants.
Because we love planting so much this is a service we are more than happy to offer on its own. Whether it be a simple planting plan and advice or planting of an existing site we can produce stunning results.
Maintenance
Each garden reflects the needs of the client, if you ask for low maintenance we will work to provide that but will be happy to pop back on an ad hoc basis to ensure all the plants are given the best treatment and that your garden remains looking its best.
Alternatively if you want to stretch the planting scheme to include plants that need more care we can work to provide you with an ongoing, more regular maintenance programme.
